Inside Goal Sports Cafe, televisions above a long wooden bar

West 3rd Street since 2010

Goal Sports Cafe

A sports bar on the 3rd Street strip — red booths, an arrow-shaped bar, and enough TVs that you can actually see your game. Kitchen by Chef Jonah Johnson.

Come for the game. Stay because the food isn’t frozen.

Goal opened when Los Angeles still thought a “nice sports bar” was a contradiction. We put 12 fifty-five-inch sets and an 11-foot screen in a wood-toned room, then hired a real kitchen. CNN later asked LA chefs where they watch. They said here.

Valet out front, street parking if you beat kickoff. Patio for sunny Sundays. Call ahead for NFL, March Madness, and World Cup nights — the room is smaller than it looks from the sidewalk.
